Since summer is approaching its end (sadly *sniff sniff) … I thought I would post up a December wedding for all of the upcoming winter brides out there…
December weddings are always a treat for me. Not only does the wedding itself set an atmosphere, but the time of year has set up an atmosphere that brings your wedding guests as even more joyful, festive and excited than most other months of the year.
Elaine and Randy wanted to get married in December, and because we live in sunny San Diego, it was still the perfect time of year because it’s sunny almost year-around! As we were planning their wedding in the spring and summer months, Elaine was clear on just one thing: she wanted it to be true to the season – even though we live in San Diego, no spring-time flowers or colors for a December wedding. So we stayed true to the season, primarily with using a deep red and white color palette and candle-lit centerpieces for the reception.
Their wedding was on the lawn of the Courtyard Marriott, Liberty Station in San Diego. I love this location because it’s classic San Diego … a view of the water, the faint view of the downtown skyline in the background, yet a bit more secluded and peaceful as the lawn is set apart from public properties.
Aren’t they just the sweetest couple you ever did see?
The sand unity ceremony. Since it was a December morning wedding near the bay, we opted for the sand ceremony so we didn’t have to worry about candles being blown out. Post ceremony, the “united” sand vase was displayed at the reception.
Congratulations Elaine & Randy, for working with this lil’ wedding planner! Stay tuned for their reception….
