Meet A Lil’ Wedding Planner: Meta

I like to say that I started planning my own wedding and just never stopped planning.

With a degree in Communications and a successful career in marketing with a focus on events, I found myself throwing grand opening parties, building elaborate tradeshow booth designs, and busy every weekend at one event or another. In the midst of all that, the ‘question’ was popped, I answered YES! and it was then that my love for weddings grew and mingled with my innate abilities to plan, design, and manage an event and its people all at the same time.

Truly, out of a love for every aspect of a wedding and wanting to provide bride and grooms with not just a contracted planner but someone who would care about their once in a lifetime day and work alongside them, was born “A Lil’ Wedding Planner”.

I believe that planning and coordinating a wedding is a lot like conducting an orchestra. Each player (vendor) is a different instrument and each is important to create the final beautiful sounds of a glorious wedding. Each also knows how to do their job quite well – but they still need a conductor. To me, I wasn’t born with a musical note inside my bones, but instead genes to visualize, create and coordinate. With that, coordinating a wedding is my chance to make music.

A lil’ more about Meta

A few fun facts:

Favorite part of a wedding day? Fluffing the bride’s dress and then sending her down the aisle

Tulle or Satin? To each her own, but personally I melt with tulle.

Would love to plan a wedding: that takes place on the peak of a ski resort.

Advice to brides during the wedding planning? Remember that in the end, you’re married. It’s just you and your one love after the big day is over. Don’t let anything get in the way of that and remember to look forward to not just the wedding, but also to the marriage.

Advice to brides on the big day? Hold your flowers low to show off your pretty dress and gorgeous face. Bring a pair of flip-flops. Drink water out of a straw. And most importantly: smile, breathe, and enjoy your day.
